Amazing and Interesting Life Incidents of Swami Vivekananda

incidents of swami vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda, the role model for the youth and an inspiration for millions of people, taught the importance of unconditional love and humanity. His life is full of amazing incidents that inspire people, not just in India, but around the world. Here are some notable incidents from his life:

While trekking in the Himalayas, Swamiji met an old man who was extremely exhausted and frustrated. The old man said he couldn't continue his trek, but Swamiji inspired him to continue by saying that the road he had already crossed was now under his feet and that the road ahead would soon be under his feet as well.

During his travels in Rajasthan, Swamiji preached his message and lessons, but no one offered him any food. A cobbler noticed this and offered him food, even though he belonged to a lower caste. Swamiji happily accepted the food and was against the notion of caste discrimination.

Some people condemned Swamiji for accepting food cooked by a low-caste cobbler, but he calmly replied that they should overlook the man's caste and appreciate the humanity he had just shown.

Once, while traveling in America, a Negro porter congratulated Swamiji on his achievements. Swamiji calmly shook hands with him and said, "Thank you, brother!" When asked why he didn't reveal that he wasn't Negro, he replied, "Should I rise at the expense of others? I was not born for that!"

Swamiji also tried to ignite self-respect in a cobbler he met during his travels in India by telling him that his profession was noble and that people could walk around without feeling the heat of the earth thanks to his work.

In conclusion, Swamiji's life and teachings continue to inspire people to "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached."
